Babak Salimi

Babak Salimi, the firm's principal and founder has more than 19
years of domain expertise in the IT, security, compliance, enterprise
applications and telecom/networking industry.

As the General Manager of Products at Workshare, Babak helped
create the discipline, culture, organizational structure and product
strategy enabling the company to become the leading provider of
Legal Document Control solutions in the market, while pursuing
external expansion opportunities.

As VP of Business Development, Babak helped turn around VC-
backed startup called GreenBorder which was leveraging
application virtualization to create a sandbox in the browser.
Results lead to recognition by Gartner and acquisition by Google in
2007.

Earlier in this career, Babak and his team were pioneers of
Endpoint Security, On-Demand Security and Network Access
Control markets by launching Sygate Secure Enterprise in the
summer of 2000, followed by Sygate On-Demand and Network
Access Control security solutions.  Babak's efforts in the areas of
corporate, product and partner strategy lead to Sygate's successful
acquisition by Symantec.

In 2004 Babak led the creation of an open industry standards group
known as Trusted Network Connect (a working group of Trusted
Computing Group).  Initial group participation of 20 vendors quickly
grew to over 60+ industry leading vendors such as Avaya, HP, IBM,
Intel, iPass, Juniper, and Symantec.

Prior to Sygate Babak held various management and development
positions with large multi-national organizations including Nortel
Networks (NYSE: NT), Bell Northern Research and IBM (NYSE:
IBM).

Babak holds a Masters degree in Telecommunications Technology
Management and a Bachelors in Engineering with honors from
McGill University. Babak is recognized for his expertise in building
highly effective multi-disciplinary teams for bringing software
solutions to market with the following characteristics: fast time-to-
market, enterprise-class high quality and profitable/growth
opportunities.
